Concept of SUBJECT in modern Japanese

Abstract:

Disertační práce si klade za cíl popsat obsahové plány konstrukcí jmenných frází a partikulí ga a wa v moderní japonštině a zhodnotit jejich charakteristiky ve vztahu ke kategorii PODMĚT. Využívá přitom východisek funkční a kognitivně orientované lingvistiky (prototypové pojetí kategorií, konstrukční procesy aj.) s přihlédnutím k typologickému využití podmětu. Analýza je zasazena do širšího kontextu japonských lingvistických teorií, jež se k podmětu vztahují.

Abstract:

The doctoral thesis aims at describing the semantic structure of nominal constructions with particles ga and wa in modern Japanese with reference to the linguistic category of SUBJECT. Framework of functional and cognitive linguistics (prototype theory, processes of construal etc.) is used, with taking account of the linguistic typology. The analysis is situated within the context of Japanese linguistic theories related to the notion of subject.
