World orchestral music in popular culture and its usage in teaching of the musical education

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zaměřuje na osvětu orchestrální hudby mezi žáky škol, a to prostřednictvím dnes dobře známých skladeb v rámci audiovizuálních děl popkultury. Práce poukazuje na historický vývoj a tvorbu orchestrálních skladeb ve filmech, seriálech a videohrách. Několika vybraným skladatelům je zde věnována kapitola, v níž jsou zmíněna některá jejich díla a úspěchy. Dále práce pojednává o dvou českých hudebních tělesech věnujícím se prezentaci orchestrální hudby v popkultuře. Zahrnuty jsou také praktické činnosti a hudební ukázky děl, které mají žáky motivovat a pomoci jim hlouběji pochopit danou problematiku. Vzhledem k pestrosti hudebních aktivit by práce měla být adaptabilní pro většinu českých škol. Hlavním cílem práce je žákům druhého stupně základní školy, střední školy a gymnázia touto problematikou všeobecně zlepšit vztah k orchestrální hudbě.

Abstract:

This diploma thesis focuses on the enlightenment of orchestral music among schoolchildren, through nowadays well-known compositions in the audio-visual works of pop culture. The work points to the historical development and creation of orchestral compositions in films, TV series and video games. A chapter is devoted to several selected composers, in which some of their works and achievements are mentioned. Furthermore, the work deals with two Czech ensembles dedicated to the presentation of orchestral music in pop culture. Also there are included practical activities and musical demonstrations of works to motivate pupils and help them gain a deeper understanding of the problematic. Thanks to the diversity of musical activities, the thesis should be adaptable for most Czech schools. The main goal of this thesis is to generally improve the relationship to orchestral music by students of the second stage of primary school, secondary school and high school.
