Aggression in selected groups of prisoners

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá agresivitou v penitenciárním prostředí, zejména ve vztahu k mladistvým vězňům. Cíleně se snaží proniknout do této problematiky a pochopit příčiny tohoto chování. Dále si tato práce klade otázky, zda je toto chování stimulováno nedostatečně podnětným prostředím, nedostatkem odborného personálu a nebo sociálními a osobnostními limity mladistvých odsouzených, kteří jen kopírují nesprávně nastavené hodnotové vzorce prostředí ve kterém vyrůstali. V rámci výzkumného šetření tato práce porovnává tři skupiny mladistvých odsouzených v různých režimech ubytování s cílem identifikovat stanovit, v jaké skupině vybraných odsouzených dochází ve větší míře k projevům agresivity a čím je to jednání zapříčiněno. Výstupem z této bakalářské práce jsou doporučení pro Vězeňskou službu ČR zejména ve vztahu k mladistvé populaci vězněných jedinců, jak s těmito jedinci efektivněji pracovat.

Abstract:

This Bachelor thesis examines aggression in penitentiary environemnt especially with regards to juvenile prisoners. It aims to shed light onto related issues and understand the causes of such behaviour. Moreover, this thesis asks whether such behaviour is stimulated by insufficiently imaginative environment, lack of professional staff or social and individual limits of the convicted juvenile who only imitate mistakenly-set value systems from the environment in which they grew up in. Within the scope of examination, this paper compares three groups of convicted juvenile in various accommodation schemes with the aim to identify determine in which of the convicted groups the extent of aggressive signs is larger and what causes those actions. The outcome of this Bachelor thesis are recommendations for the Prison Service of the Czech Republic especially regarding the juvenile population amongst prisoners and how to work with these individuals more effectively.
