The aim of this work is to analyse the female characters of the book „Jardim das Tormentas“ written by a portuguese writer Aquilino Ribeiro. This work is focused on motives which influence the characters, such as the nature, love or the position of the female characters as opposed to the men´s characters. Diplomová práce se zabývá ženskými postavami knihy „Jardim das Tormentas“ portugalského spisovatele Aquilina Ribeira. Práce rozebírá nejen tyto ženské postavy, ale také všechny souvislosti, kterými jsou utvářeny či utvářejí ony samy, jako jsou například příroda, láska či postavení ženské postavy ve společnosti postav mužských.
