Blackmailing Style of Hoax

Abstract:

Ve své bakalářské práci s názvem Vyděračský styl hoaxů se zabývám analýzou specifického typu e-mailů ? hoaxů. V první části jsem popsala charakteristické rysy hoaxů, jejich členění a formy výskytu. Uvedla jsem také, čím hoaxy škodí a jak se před nimi můžeme chránit. Druhá část práce je věnovaná využívání vyděračských prostředků, díky nimž se autoři hoaxů snaží dosáhnout základního cíle ? přimět uživatele k dalšímu přeposlání. Stručně jsem zde popsala i vizuální a akustické prostředky. V textech hoaxů se vyskytuje velké množství chyb, a proto je jim věnována třetí kapitola. Tato práce vytváří návod, pomocí něhož může příjemce e-mailu poznat, že se jedná o hoax, a uvádí také další kroky, které může uživatel učinit, aby zabránil dalšímu šíření.

Abstract:

The thesis, entitled Blackmailing Style of Hoax, deals with an analysis of a specific type of email, the so called hoax. The first part focuses on the characterization of hoaxes, their segmentation and forms under which they occur. Moreover, it comments on the nature of their harmful effects and possible protection against them. The second part of the thesis concentrates on the usage of blackmailing means, thanks to which their authors try to achieve their basic goal ? to force a user to mail forwarding. Visual and acoustic means are briefly described here as well. Because of a great amount of mistakes in hoaxes, these have become the topic of the third chapter. This thesis serves as a sort of manual helping the email addressee to recognize a hoax and it also states some other steps, which the user can take to prevent further spreading.
