Group Work of Adults with Moderate and Severe Mental Retardation in a day care centre

Abstract:

RESUMÉ V této diplomové práci se zabýváme problematikou dospělých osob se středně těžkým a těžkým mentálním postižením, a dále významem a vhodnosti skupinových činností u těchto osob. Vysvětlujeme pojem mentální retardace, uvádíme možnosti výchovy, vzdělávání a pracovního uplatnění mentálně retardovaných osob, a dále sociální služby poskytované těmto osobám v naší zemi, přičemž se podrobně věnujeme ambulantní sociální službě Denní stacionář v Havířově. V závěru teoretické části uvádíme kognitivní procesy, jejich zvláštnosti u osob s mentálním postižením, a v souvislosti s jejich rozvojem některé terapeutické přístupy aplikované u těchto osob v rámci skupinové činnosti. Cílem práce je na základě přístupů a reakcí probandů rozhodnout, která z realizovaných skupinových činností zaměřených na poznání lidského těla je vhodná pro osoby se středně těžkým mentálním postižením, která pro osoby s těžkým mentálním postižením, a které skupinové činnosti je vhodné aplikovat současně u osob se středně těžkým a těžkým mentálním postižením.

Abstract:

SUMMARY In this thesis we deal with the problems of adults with moderate and severe mental disabilities, as well as the importance and suitability of group activities for these people. We explain the concept of mental retardation, we present the possibilities of education, training and employment of mentally retarded persons, we also present social services for these people in our country, while we pay special attention to the ambulant social services day care in Havířov. In conclusion, we present the theoretical cognitive processes, their specific features for people with mental disabilities, and in connection with their development, we also present some therapeutic approaches applied to these subjects within group activities. The aim of this work, based on approach and reactions of probands, is to decide, which group activities aimed at understanding of the human body, that was carried out thru the research, is suitable for people with moderate mental retardation. Which is suitable for people with severe mental disabilities, and also which group activities are suitable for both, people with moderate and people with severe learning disabilities.
