Phenomenon of exposure-related forest-steppe in the south-eastern part of Central Europe

Abstract:

Moje diplomová práce se zabývá fenoménem expoziční lesostepi v jihovýchodní části střední Evropy. V úvodu jsem k tématu provedl rešerši, ve které jsem se kon-krétně zabýval: (1.2) historickým vývojem názorů na přirozenost a historii stepí, po-tažmo i lesostepí ve střední Evropě; (1.3) historií lesostepních krajin ve studovaném území; (1.4) faktory, jež se podílejí na formování krajinné struktury lesostepí, a (1.5) charakteristikou hlavních krajinných typů lesostepi ve studovaném území. Cílové studované území je severozápadní část Panonské pánve, tedy přibližně oblast mezi městy Brno a Velký Krtíš a pohořím Kesthely-hegység, a dodatečně i lesostepi v Českém krasu. Ve studovaném území jsem provedl vegetační průzkum lesostep-ních krajin na různých typech substrátu. V každé z nich jsem zapisoval fytocenolo-gické snímky ve 3 až 5 lesostepních biotopech. Tato data jsem pak využil ke studiu lesostepí na třech organizačních úrovních: (1) struktura lesostepí v lokálním měřítku; (2) biogeografické gradienty v lesostepních krajinách v severozápadní Panonii a (3) rozšíření lesostepního biomu v Panonské pánvi. Toto dělení odpovídá dělení vý-sledků a diskuse předložené diplomové práce na tři oddíly. Pomocí numerických analýz jsem zjistil, že substrát výrazně ovlivňuje strukturu lesostepí, rozložení druho-vé diverzity, ale i druhovou skladbu lesostepních krajin. Zatímco ve studovaných lesostepích na kompaktních horninách se projevuje ekotonový efekt, ve sprašových lesostepích nikoliv. Na různé typy substrátu jsou vázané odlišné skupiny druhů a toto rozdělení může do určité míry vysvětlit původ těchto druhů: na spraších jsou častější kontinentální druhy a na andezitech zase druhy mediteránní. Nejčastější jsou v lesostepích ve studovaném území druhy submediteránní. Rozšíření lesostepí do velké míry ovlivňuje souhra makroklimatických a lokálních topografických podmí-nek, což demonstruji analýzou jejich interakce.

Abstract:

My thesis deals with the phenomenon of the forest-steppe in the south-east of Central Europe. In the introduction, I conducted a literature review on the subject in which I specifically looked at: (1.2) historical developments in views on the nature and history of the forest-steppes in Central Europe; (1.3) the history of the forest-steppe landscapes in the studied area; (1.4) factors involved in shaping the land-scape structure of the forest-steppes and (1.5) characteristics of the main forest-steppe landscape types. The target area studied is the northwestern part of the Pan-nonian Plain, i.e., approximately the area between the city of Brno and the town of Velký Krtíš and the Kesthely-hegység mountains and additionally the forest-steppe in the Bohemian Karst. In the study area, I conducted a vegetation survey of forest-steppe landscapes on different types of substrate. At each locality, I did phytocoeno-logical sampling in 3 to 5 forest-steppe habitats. I then used this data to study forest-steppe at three organisational levels: (1) the structure of forest-steppe on a local scale; (2) biogeographical gradients in forest landscapes in northwest Pannonian Basin; and (3) the prevalence of the forest-steppe biome in the Pannonian Basin. This division corresponds to dividing the results and discussion of the pre-submitted thesis into three sections. Using numerical analyses, I found that the substrate sig-nificantly influences the structure of the forest-steppes, the distribution of species diversity, but also the species composition of forest-steppe landscapes. While there is an ecotonal effect on compact rocks, it is not present on loess. Different groups of species are bound to different types of substrate, and this distribution may explain to some extent the origin of these species: continental species are more common on loess and Mediterranean species on andesites. Sub-Mediterranean species are most common in forest-steppes in the study area. The interplay of macro-climatic and local topographic conditions largely influences the diffusion of forest-steppe.biom; ekoton; krajina; lesostep; mikroklima; mo-zaika; step; vegetace.
