Meaninig of life of geriatric patients

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá životní smysluplností geriatrických pacientů. Cílem práce je zjistit míru prožívání smysluplnosti života, faktory, které nejvíce ovlivňují prožívání smysluplnosti života u geriatrických pacientů. Dále objasnit to, zda má na prožívání smysluplnosti života vliv délka hospitalizace pacientů. V teoretické části práce jsou vysvětleny pojmy, jako je smysl života, smysluplnost, proces stárnutí, stáří, gerontologie, kdo je to geriatrický pacient, jeho potřeby a péče o něj. Ve výzkumné části je popsáno vyhodnocení jednotlivých výzkumných otázek.

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis deals with the theme of meaningfulness of the life of geriatric patients. The aim of the thesis is to find out to which extent geriatric patients perceive their life as meaningful, as well as to determine the factors which contribute the most to the sense of meaningfulness of life of geriatric patients. Further goal is to answer the question, whether the length of the patient's hospitalization significantly determines ability to perceive and also experience life meaningfulness. The theoretical part of the thesis explains basic concepts like meaning of the life, meaningfulness, aging process, old age, gerontology and also identifies who exactly is geriatric patient and what are care needs of such a patient. The research part evaluates and summarizes individual research questions.
