Influence of forest tree composition transformations on the herbaceous understory in the model area near Stráž nad Nežárkou

Abstract:

Předmětem této diplomové práce bylo zhodnotit vliv přeměn druhové skladby porostů na strukturu přízemní vegetace. V lesním komplexu Dubovice (u Stráže nad Nežárkou, v okrese Jindřichův Hradec) v okolí vrchu Homolky byly studovány čtyři typy porostů: bukové kotlíky, smrkové tyčoviny, listnaté a jehličnaté kmenoviny. Bylo zaznamenáno 76 fytocenologických snímků, na každém z nich byl proveden odběr vzorku půdy z A horizontu a byla změřena i mocnost tohoto horizontu. Ze vzorků byla zjištěna půdní reakce pH/KCl a procentuální obsah humusových látek. Pomocí jednorozměrných i mnohorozměrných analýz (kanonická a detrendovaná korespondenční analýza) byl ověřen vztah sledovaných proměnných. Pro statistické zhodnocení pedologických výsledků byl použit Kruskal-Wallisův test. Na studovaném území byl potvrzen statisticky významný vtah mezi dřevinnou skladbou porostů a bylinným i mechovým patrem, a také u obsahu humusových látek a mocnosti A horizontu. Předpokládaný vliv složení stromového patra nebyl prokázán na proměnnou pH/KCl, a také nebyl prokázán vztah mezi věkem a druhovou diverzitou a pokryvností bylinného patra. Přeměny porostů mají pozitivní vliv na diverzitu přízemní vegetace a sledované půdní vlastnosti stanoviště.

Abstract:

The aim of this thesis was to evaluate the effect of changes in species composition on the structure of ground vegetation. In the Dubovice forest complex (near Stráž nad Nežárkou, in the Jindřichův Hradec district) in the vicinity of the Homolka hill, four types of stands were studied: young beech stands, young spruce stands, deciduous and coniferous coppice. Seventy-six phytocenological images were recorded, and soil sampling from the A horizon was carried out on each of them, and the strength of this horizon was measured. From the samples, the soil pH/KCl reaction and the percentage of humus content were determined. Using univariate and multivariate analyses (canonical and detrended correspondence analysis), the relationship between the variables of interest was verified. The Kruskal-Wallis test was used for statistical evaluation of the pedological results. In the study area, a statistically significant relationship was confirmed between the woody plant composition and herbaceous and moss cover, as well as for humus content and A horizon strength. The predicted effect of tree canopy composition was not demonstrated on the pH/KCl variation, and the relationship between age and species diversity and herbaceous canopy cover was also not demonstrated. Stand transformations have a positive effect on ground vegetation diversity and soil habitat characteristics.
