Marked Vocabulary in Private Correspondence of Young People

Abstract:

V této diplomové práci jsme se na základě podrobné analýzy sta dopisů z Korpusu soukromé korespondence, jejichž autory byli mladí lidé ve věku do 30 let, pokusili ukázat, že soukromé dopisy mládeže jsou vhodným pramenem pro studium příznakového lexika současné češtiny a zároveň cenným excerpčním zdrojem pro lexikografické účely. V teoretické části práce jsme podali stručnou charakteristiku lingvistické problematiky spojené s tématem soukromé korespondence mládeže (jazyk soukromé korespondence, jazyk mládeže, expresivita a příznakovost, neologismy a okazionalismy). V praktické části jsme se zaměřili především na stylistickou analýzu zjištěných příznakových lexémů, na slovotvorný rozbor neologismů a okazionalismů a na lexikografické zhodnocení shromážděného materiálu. Naší snahou bylo rovněž vypracovat metodiku pro budoucí obdobně zaměřený výzkum a vytvořit anotovaný soubor lexémů, který by mohl být využit k hlubšímu lexikologicky orientovanému studiu jazyka korespondenčních textů.

Abstract:

In this diploma thesis we have tried to prove on the basis of a detailed analysis of one hundred letters from the Corpus of private correspondence written by young people at the age to 30 years that private correspondence of young people is a suitable source for the research on the marked vocabulary of contemporary Czech and at the same time a valuable source for excerpting lexemes for lexicographical purposes. In the theoretical part of the thesis we first gave a brief characteristics of the linguistic problems connected with the topic of private correspondence (language of private correspondence, language of young people, expressivity and markedness, neologisms and nonce words). In the practical part we then focused especially on the stylistic analysis of found marked lexemes, on the word-formation analysis of neologisms and nonce words, and on the lexicographical evaluation of the collected material. We also tried to devise a methodology for future research oriented on a similar subject and to create an annotated collection of lexemes which then could be used for a deeper lexicogologically oriented research of language of correspondence texts.
