Skin to Skin Contact

Abstract:

The Bachelor Thesis deals with the „skin to skin“, or contact between infant and mother skin to skin with a focus on healthy term neonates. It is divides into two parts, and it is theoretical part and practical part. The theoretical part was treated by summarization method and is divided into six chapters. The first chapter contains information about human skin in terms of anatomy and physiology. The second chapter deals with the skin of a new-born and its differences compared to adult skin. The third chapter deals with the afterbirth adaptation in healthy full-term new-born. The fourth chapter is devoted to human perception and development of perception from conception. The fifth chapter focuses on human communication and its forms, with a focus on new-born and infant. In the sixth chapter provides a complete theoretical and practical information about skin to skin contact. The goal of this Bachelor Thesis was to determine the level of awareness among women of the "skin to skin" or contact the child with the mother skin to skin. The practical part is processed by means of qualitative research. It consists of individual interviews with female respondents, analysis from these interviews and its interpretation. Six pregnant women voluntarily took part in the research, they have confirmed their presence in research by signing the informed consent. Research indicates that the average women's awareness about "skin to skin" contact is sufficient. On average, they are better informed women who have given birth at least one child and women who attended antenatal preparation courses. The most common source of information is the Internet, which, however, might not always be correct and relevant. Provision of information by midwives was none. The mentioned findings could be an inspiration for further research in the area of “skin to skin” contact.

Abstract:

Bakalárska práca sa zaoberá technikou „skin to skin“, alebo kontakt dieťaťa s matkou koža na kožu so zameraním na zdravého donoseného novorodenca. Je rozdelená na dve časti, a to časť teoretickú a časť praktickú. Teoretická časť bola spracovaná sumarizačnou metódou a je rozdelená na šesť kapitol. Prvá kapitola obsahuje informácie o ľudskej koži z hľadiska anatómie a fyziológie. Druhá kapitola pojednáva o koži novorodenca a jej rozdieloch oproti koži dospelého človeka. Tretia kapitola sa zaoberá popôrodnou adaptáciou zdravého donoseného novorodenca. Štvrtá kapitola je venovaná ľudskému vnímaniu a vývoju vnímania od počatia. Piata kapitola sa zaoberá ľudskou komunikáciou a jej formami so zameraním na novorodenca a dojča. V šiestej kapitole sa nachádzajú kompletné teoretické a praktické informácie o technike „skin to skin“. Cieľom bakalárskej práce bolo zistiť mieru informovanosti žien o technike „skin to skin“ alebo kontakt dieťaťa s matkou koža na kožu. Praktická časť práce je spracovaná formou kvalitatívneho výskumu. Je tvorená jednotlivými rozhovormi s respondentkami, ich analýzou a interpretáciou. Do výskumu sa dobrovoľne zapojilo šesť tehotných žien, ktoré svoju účasť na výskume potvrdili podpísaním informovaného súhlasu. Z výskumu vyplýva, že priemerná informovanosť žien o technike „skin to skin“ je dostatočná. V priemere sú lepšie informované ženy, ktoré už porodili aspoň jedno dieťa a ženy, ktoré absolvovali kurzy predpôrodnej prípravy. Najčastejším zdrojom informácií je internet, kde však informácie nemusia byť vždy správne a relevantné. Poskytovanie informácií zo strany pôrodných asistentiek nebolo žiadne. Uvedené zistenia by mohli byť inšpiráciou pre ďalšie výskumy v oblasti kontaktu „skin to skin“.
