Map of Ústí nad Labem soil contamination by selected risk elements with utilisation of perspective geostatistic tools

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá problematikou kontaminace půdy ve městském prostředí a využitím geochemických map k identifikaci a analýze této kontaminace. V úvodu práce jsou definovány pojmy znečištění a kontaminace s důrazem na jejich rozdíly a význam v kontextu městského prostředí. Dále je rozebrán vývoj urbanizace a růst populace ve městech, což představuje tlak na půdní zdroje a zvyšuje riziko kontaminace půdy. Práce se zabývá různými zdroji kontaminace půdy ve městech, jako jsou průmyslové aktivity, doprava, používání pesticidů a herbicidů v zemědělství a ukazuje, jaké škodlivé účinky mohou mít tyto aktivity na půdní mikroorganismy, rostliny a živočichy, a tím i na půdy města. Významnou součástí práce je popis metodologie sběru a analýzy půdních vzorků, včetně diskuse o hloubce odběru a vhodných analytických postupech. Dále je diskutováno o vlivu geologie na kontaminaci půdy ve městech a o využití geochemických map k identifikaci kontaminovaných oblastí. Práce rovněž uvádí příklady studií o kontaminaci městské půdy z různých regionů světa a popisuje různé nástroje a metody využívané k analýze a zpracování dat z měření půdních vzorků. V závěru práce je zdůrazněn význam geochemických map jako nástroje pro ochranu životního prostředí a je rozebrán historický vývoj mapování městských geochemických vlastností a současné metody zpracování dat a tvorby těchto map. Práce se také zaměřuje na konkrétní aplikace a využití geochemických map pro identifikaci kontaminovaných oblastí ve městech.

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis deals with the issue of soil contamination in urban environments and the use of geochemical maps to identify and analyse this contamination. The thesis begins by defining the concepts of pollution and contamination, emphasizing their differences and importance in the context of the urban environment. The evolution of urbanization and population growth in cities, which puts pressure on soil resources and increases the risk of soil contamination, is then discussed. The content of the thesis examines the various sources of soil contamination in cities, such as industrial activities, transport, and the use of pesticides and herbicides in agriculture, and shows the detrimental effects these activities can have on soil microorganisms, plants and animals, and thus on urban soils. An important part of the work is also a description of the methodology for collecting and analysing soil samples, including a discussion of the depth of sampling and appropriate analytical procedures. The influence of geology on urban soil contamination and the use of geochemical maps to identify contaminated areas are also discussed. The paper also provides examples of urban soil contamination studies from different regions of the world and describes the different tools and methods used to analyse and process soil sample data. The thesis concludes by highlighting the importance of geochemical maps as a tool for environmental protection and discusses the historical development of urban geochemical mapping and current methods of data processing and map production. The thesis also focuses on specific applications and uses of geochemical maps for the identification of contaminated areas in cities.
