Psychological resistance of parents in critical situations

Abstract:

Ve své bakalářské práci jsem se zaměřila na psychickou odolnost rodičů v krizových, nestandardních situacích. Práce pojednává o konkrétním životním cyklu a souběžných pocitech rodičů, kteří prožili nepříjemné a stresové stavy spojené s jejich dětmi. Cílem práce je popsat a interpretovat prožitou zkušenost rodičů s krizovými situacemi, které vznikají nečekanými událostmi spojenými s jejich dětmi, a způsoby zvládání těchto nastalých poměrů v rodinách. Práce je rozdělena na teoretickou a empirickou část. Teoretická část se zaměřuje na vysvětlení základních pojmů problematiky, psychickou odolnost, krizové situace a styly jejich zvládání, sociální oporu, sociální izolaci apod. Empirická část je založena na kvalitativním výzkumu – výzkumné šetření bylo realizováno pomocí hloubkových polo-strukturovaných rozhovorů s matkami z vybraných rodin. Tématem byly prožité situace a okolnosti, které je provázely. Data byla analyzována pomocí otevřeného kódování.

Abstract:

In my bachelor thesis I focus on the psychological resistance of the parents in critical, nonstandard situations. The work deals with a particular life cycle and concurrent feelings of parents who lived through unpleasant and stressful situations associated with their children. The goal of this work is to describe and interpret the experience of parents with critical situations which arise in consequence of unexpected incidents associated with their children, as well as the ways of coping with the resulting situations in the families. The work is devided into a theoretical and an empirical part. The theoretical part focuses on explanation of the basic concepts of the main issue, psychological resistence, critical situations and the ways of coping with them, social support, social isolation etc. The empirical part is based on qualitative research which was realized using in-depth semi-structured interviews with mothers of chosen families. The interviews dealt with the situations encountered in the families and the circumstances accompanying them. The data was analysed using open coding.
