Evaluation of knowledge in student of the ninth class primary school in the providing of first aid

Abstract:

Cíl: Cílem bakalářské bylo zjistit, jaké jsou znalosti v oblasti poskytování první pomoci žáků devátých tříd na vybraných základních školách okresu Ostrava a Karviná. Metodika: Průzkumný soubor tvořilo 117 respondentů devátých tříd čtyř státních základních škol ve věku 14-16 let. Dotazníkové šetření bylo realizováno v období říjen-prosinec 2019 pomocí nestandardizovaného dotazníkového šetření vlastní konstrukce. Data byla zpracována pomocí programu MS Excel a prezentována graficky. Výsledky: Dotazníkové šetření prokázalo, že celkové znalosti respondentů devátých tříd je 75 %. Na základě výsledků, bylo poukázáno, že nejvyšší znalosti respondenti měli ve znalostech telefonního čísla na integrovaný záchranný systém. Naopak nejnižší znalosti vykazovali respondenti při postupu tepenného krvácení a postupu při epileptickém záchvatu. Výrazně byl poukázán rozdíl mezi celkovými znalostmi první pomoci u žáků, kteří prošli kurzem první pomoci, jejichž úspěšnost činila 88 % a u žáků, kteří nepodstoupili kurz první pomoci jejich úspěšnost byla pouze 65 %. Zatímco znalosti první pomoci dívek v dotazníkovém šetření dosáhly 79 %, u chlapců to bylo pouze 72 %. Závěr: Výsledky ukazují nedostatečné znalosti v oblasti první pomoci žáků devátých tříd. Je důležité rozvíjet jejich znalosti o poskytování první pomoci nejen teoreticky, ale také prakticky. Je tedy na místě implementovat zdravotnické odborníky do škol, aby předávali své zkušenosti z první pomoci. Světové studie poukazují na důležitost první pomoci, jako začlenění samostatného předmětu na základní školy. Díky tomu budou mít děti příležitost naučit se nezbytné informace, které mohou v budoucnu zachránit lidský život.

Abstract:

Aim: The aim of bachelor thesis was to find out what knowledge of first aid pupils of the ninth grade have at selected elementary schools in the district of Ostrava and Karviná. Methodology: The survey sample consisted of 117 ninth grade respondents of four state elementary schools aged 14-16. The questionnaire survey was carried out in the period October-December 2019 using a non-standardized questionnaire survey of its own design. The data were processed using MS Excel and converted into graphs. Results: The questionnaire survey showed that the overall knowledge of the ninth-grade respondents is 75 %. Based on the results, it was pointed out that the respondents had the highest knowledge about the phone number of the integrated rescue system. On the other hand, respondents showed the lowest knowledge during the procedure of arterial bleeding and (the procedure during) epileptic seizure. There was a significant difference between the overall knowledge of first aid among pupils who had attended a first aid course as their success rate was 88 %, and of those pupils who did not follow any first aid course. Their success rate was only 65 %. While the knowledge of first aid of girls in this survey was 79 %, the boys reached only 72 %. Conclusion: The results show insufficient knowledge first aid of ninth-grade pupils. It is important to develop their knowledge of first aid not only in theory but also in practice. It is, therefore, appropriate to implement health professionals in schools in order to pass on their first aid experience. World studies point out the importance of first aid as the inclusion of a separate subject in primary schools. As a result of that, children will have the opportunity to learn the necessary information that can save a human life in the future.
