Needs of parents of children after vetriculoperitoneal drainage

Abstract:

Cíl: Cílem diplomové práce bylo zjistit potřeby rodičů dětí po ventrikuloperitoneální drenáži. Metodika: Výzkumný soubor byl tvořen 105 rodiči dětí po chirurgické léčbě hydrocefalu - ventrikuloperitoneální drenáži navštěvující ambulanci Neurochirurgické kliniky a Dětské neurologie ve Fakultní nemocnici v Ostravě. K výzkumu byl použit standardizovaný dotazník NPQ (Needs of Parents Questionnaire). Výsledky: Výzkum diplomové práce byl zaměřen na potřeby rodičů dětí po ventrikuloperitoneální drenáži, důležitost a naplněnost těchto potřeb. Jako nejdůležitější potřebu rodiče uvedli: "Mít jistotu, že se mému dítěti dostane té nejlepší péče? a "Mít pocit naděje v uzdravení mého dítěte?, nejméně důležitou potřebu: "Mít možnost stravovat se svým dítětem na oddělení?. Dále bylo zjištěno, že věk rodičů neměl vliv na jejich potřeby, skoro ve všech potřebách se mladší a starší rodiče shodovali. Rodiče dětí, kdy jejich dítě byly operováno před více než rokem, uvedli jinou potřebu, než rodiče dětí operovaných do jednoho roku. Dle věku dítěte od 0-5 let včetně, rodiče uvedli jinou potřebu, než rodiče dětí od 6-10 let včetně. Výzkumu se zúčastnily ve většině případů hlavně matky, které uvedly jiné potřeby než otcové, kterých se ve výzkumu zúčastnilo pouze šestnáct. Celková naplněnost potřeb byla 92 %. Závěr: Zdravotnický pracovník musí uspokojovat nejen potřeby dítěte, ale také potřeby jeho rodičů. Proto je velmi důležité, aby byla rodičům poskytnuta psychosociální podpora a byly uspokojovány jejich vlastní potřeby alespoň do té míry, jak to umožňuje chod pracoviště a zdravotní stav dítěte. Uspokojování potřeb rodičů zajišťují zdravotničtí pracovníci, kteří se současně starají o jejich nemocné děti.

Abstract:

Objective: The aim of the diploma thesis was to find out the needs of parents of children after ventriculoperitoneal drainage. Methodology: The research group was made up of 105 parents of children after surgical treatment of hydrocephalus - ventriculoperitoneal drainage attending the ambulance of the Neurosurgery Clinic and Children's Neurology at the Faculty Hospital in Ostrava. The NPQ (Needs of Parents Questionnaire) standard questionnaire was used. Results: The diploma thesis research focused on the needs of parents of children after ventriculoperitoneal drainage, importance and fulfillment of these needs. The most important need for parents was to say: "To be sure that though I am not present my child will get the best available nursing care? and "That I can continue to feel hopeful about my child's condition?, the least important need: "That I can have meals with my child on the unit?. We also found that the age of parents did not affect their needs, and in almost all needs the younger and older parents agreed. Parents of children, when their child was operated more than a year ago, had a different need than parents of children operated within one year. According to the age of the child between 0-5 years of age, parents have introduced a different need than the parents of children aged 6-10 years. In most cases, most of the research was attended by mothers who introduced other needs than fathers who were only sixteen. The total fulfillment of needs was 92%. Conclusion: The health worker must satisfy not only the needs of the child but also the needs of his / her parents. Therefore, it is very important that parents receive psychosocial support and that their own needs are met at least to the extent that the workplace and the health of the child allow it to work. Satisfaction of parents' needs is ensured by healthcare workers who care for their sick children at the same time.
