Audience Engagement with a Focus on the Specifics of Generations X, Y, Z and Alpha at Film Festivals in the Czech Republic

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce se zabývá tématem práce s publikem na filmových festivalech v ČR. Cílem práce je zjistit, jaké koncepty práce s publikem jsou na filmových festivalech v ČR nejvíce využívány a jak na jednotlivé koncepty reagují návštěvníci festivalů spadající do generačních skupin X, Y, Z a Alfa. Teoretická část práce pojednává o filmovém publiku a specifik jednotlivých generačních skupin a jejich chování v kulturní sféře. Definovány jsou také jednotlivé koncepty práce s publikem a pojem návštěvnický prožitek. V této části je uvedena také metodika práce, která obsahuje cíl a účel výzkumu, výběr recipientů a vybranou metodu šetření. Praktická část práce se věnuje výsledkům výzkumného šetření. Na základě analýzy dat jsou zodpovězeny výzkumné otázky a v projektové části práce následují doporučení a návrh strategie pro zisk zpětné vazby od návštěvníků festivalů.

Abstract:

This master's thesis focuses on the topic of audience engagement at film festivals in the Czech Republic. The aim of the thesis is to determine which concepts of audience engagement are most commonly used at film festivals in the Czech Republic and how visitors belonging to generational groups X, Y, Z, and Alpha respond to these concepts. The theoretical part of this work defines terms such as film audience and the specifics of each generation and their behavior in the cultural market. Various concepts of audience engagement and the term "visitor experience" are also defined. This part also presents the methodology of the research, research aim and purpose, selection of respondents, and the survey method. The practical part deals with results of the research survey. Based on the data analysis, the research questions are answered, followed by recommendations and a proposal for a strategy to gather feedback from festival visitors in the project section.
