The impact of selected indicators on the automotive market.

Abstract:

Kosířová Kateřina. Vliv vybraných proměnných na automobilový trh. Diplomová práce. Brno, Mendelova univerzita v Brně, 2024. Diplomová práce se zabývá vlivem vybraných proměnných na výnosnost akcií automobilového průmyslu, a to konkrétně u společností General Motors, Ford Motor Company a Toyota Motor Corporation. Na základě literární rešerše vědeckých článků věnovaných této tématice byly vybrány konkrétní proměnné, které byly následně využity v regresních analýzách. Cílem této práce je identifikace významnosti těchto proměnných, a to jak ve všeobecných modelech popisujících celé sledované období, tak i v modelu zkoumajícím vliv zveřejnění incidentu s vadnými spínači společnosti General Motors. Diskuze se věnuje hodnocení výsledků práce a porovnává je se závěry vědeckých článků. Závěr se věnuje shrnutí zjištěných informací a poskytuje doporučení investorům.

Abstract:

Kosířová Kateřina. The impact of selected indicators on the automotive market. Diploma thesis. Brno, Mendel University, 2024. This thesis examines the impact of selected variables on the stock returns of the automotive industry, specifically for General Motors, Ford Motor Company and Toyota Motor Corporation. Based on literature research of scientific articles devoted to this topic, specific variables were selected and subsequently used in regression analyses. The aim of this paper is to identify the significance of these variables, both in the general models describing the entire period and in the model examining the impact of the publication of the General Motors defective switch incident. The discussion evaluates the results of the paper and compares them with the conclusions of the research papers. Conclusion summarises the findings and makes recommendations to investors.
