Analysis of the Škoda Power Company Acquisition

Abstract:

Cílem práce je analyzovat společnost Škoda power, s.r.o., zhodnotit její převzetí skupinou Doosan na konci roku 2009 a navrhnout opatření, která by mohla zvýšit přínosy z akvizice pro Škodu power i jejího vlastníka. Práce analyzuje společnost Škoda power z hlediska finančního zdraví a výkonnosti (zisk, rentabilita, zadlužení, likvidita), výkonů a prodejů, výzkumu a vývoje, firemní identity, především firemní kultury, komunikace a chování a jejich změn v souvislosti se zaváděním filozofie Doosan Way do života společnosti, dále z hlediska zaměstnanců, mezd a produktivity práce a to v letech 2007 -- 2012. Pomocí strategické analýzy firmy ke konci roku 2009 jsou identifikovány oblasti s nejvyšším potenciálem pro uplatnění synergií souvisejících s akvizicí, míra synergického působení je zhodnocena a v případě, že nebyl potenciál akvizice využit, jsou navržena opatření, pro zlepšení stávajícího stavu.

Abstract:

The thesis goal is to analyze the Škoda Power Company, to assess the company acquisition by the Doosan Corporation at the end of the 2009 year and to suggest measures with potential to increase benefits from the acquisition both for Škoda Power Company and its owner. The Škoda Power company financial health and performance (earnings, profitability, debt ratio, liquidity), output and sales, research and development, identity of the firm, particularly the firm culture, communication and behavior and their changes as a result of Doosan Way philosophy implementation, staff, average earnings, labor productivity in the 2007 -- 2012 years are analyzed. Areas with the highest potential of synergy effects impacts are discovered using strategic analysis of the firm, synergy effects are discussed and improving measures are suggested if the synergy potential exceeds the real synergy effects.
