The Present Value of Money in Selected International Financial Reporting Standards

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá technikou současné hodnoty při oceňování v Mezinárodních standardech účetního výkaznictví. V oblastech rezerv, výnosů ze smluv se zákazníky a leasingů u nájemce je zobrazen způsob definic parametrů vstupujících do výpočtů této techniky. Dle závěru je většina parametrů definována dostatečně. Ve všech vybraných oblastech je provedena citlivostní analýza, jenž na smyšlených příkladech dokazuje možné zkreslení finančních výkazů při různě dosazovaných vstupech. Práce si zároveň klade za cíl zjistit, jakým způsobem je na princip současné hodnoty pohlíženo v rámci IFRS jako celku. Z výzkumu plyne, že na princip přímo odkazují téměř 2/3 všech platných standardů, tedy že má v celém systému své pevné místo.

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis is concerned with the present value measurement technique in the IFRS. The definition of inputs, which enters into present value technique, are shown in terms of selected areas: provisions, revenue from contracts with customers and leases accounted by lessees. According to the conclusion, most of the input definitions are sufficient. The sensitivity analysis for each area has been performed on fictional examples to show, how distorted could financial statements be while modifying inputs. The thesis is also aimed at seeking of a general view of IFRS on the present value principle. The conclusion is that almost 2/3 of all standards contain some reference to that principle. Therefore, the principle is well established in the whole system of IFRS.
