Proteins as dynamic nitrogen reserve in life cycle of plants

Abstract:

Práce shrnuje hlavní publikované poznatky o zásobních látkách, ve kterých jsou uloženy živiny v rostlinách. Zejména podává informace o výskytu zásobních forem uhlíku, fosforu a především dusíku, jejich transportu, využití a místech uložení v rostlině. Práce se zabývá důvody, proč si rostlina tvoří zásoby a z jakých anorganických či organických látek jsou zásoby v rostlině tvořeny. Dalším popisovaným tématem jsou podmínky, za jakých jsou zásoby rostlinou využívány. Největší část práce se zaměřuje na dusík, dusíkaté zásobní látky a procesy, kterých se účastní. Nejpodrobněji zpracovanou částí je ukládání dusíku ve formě zásobních proteinů, jejich syntéza, rozklad a místa uložení v rostlině. Dále popisuje také využití specializovaných vegetativních zásobních proteinů v reakci na působení abiotických či biotických faktorů v prostředí. V závěru práce je také uveden přehled základních metod, které se využívají při studiu zásobních proteinů v rostlinách.

Abstract:

The thesis summarizes the main published knowledge about the compounds in which the nutrients are stored in the plants. In particular, it introduces information about the occurrence of storage forms of carbon, phosphorus and nitrogen especially, their transport, utilization and storage sites. The thesis deals with the reasons why the plant makes storage compounds, and from what inorganic or organic substances the plant reserves are made up of. Another topic described is the conditions under which plant use storage. Most of the work focuses on nitrogen, nitrogenous substances and the processes involved. The most elaborate part is the deposition of nitrogen in the form of storage proteins, their synthesis, decomposition and the place of storage in the plant. It also describes the use of specialized vegetative storage proteins in response to abiotic or biotic factors in the environment. At the end of the thesis there is also an overview of the basic methods used in the study of the storage proteins in plants.
