Ve své práci se zabývám projevem osobní zpovědi v díle Sylvie Plath – The Bell Jar. Literární analýza se soustředí na paralely mezi autorčiným životem a jeho odrazem v díle. Zvláštní důraz pak práce klade na rozporuplný vztah matky a dcery, který významně ovlivnil jak život tak dílo Sylvie Plath.

Abstract:

My thesis concerns a personal confession of Sylvia Plath’s novel, The Bell Jar. I examine the parallels between Plath’s life and its artistic transformation into her works. It is strongly based on her journal entries and the rich correspondence with her mother. The thesis also discusses the leading force of the mother-daughter relationship that seems to be the substantial influence in Plath’s both literary and personal development.
