Czech emigrants in Australia: Australians or Czechs? The transformation of the national identity of emigrants.
Abstract:
Cílem této diplomové práce bylo ukázat za pomoci některých premis kritické diskurzivní analýzy, zda a jak dochází k proměně národnostní identity u českých emigrantů žijících v Austrálii. Zaměřila jsem se za zmapování faktorů, které vedou k proměně jejich identity a samotné asimilaci jedinců do nové společnosti, nebo ji naopak brání.
Abstract:
The aim of this master thesis was presenting with help of some premises of critical discourse analysis if and how is national identity changing among Czech emigrants living in Australia. I also tried to map those factors that lead to transformation of identity and assimilation of individuals to a new society or those that prevent it.
