Music terminology from the point of etymology and lexicology based on examples of texts from Neue Zeitschrift für Musik (NZfM)

Abstract:

In my Bachelor’s thesis, I analyse music terminology and words related to the semantic field of music based on selected interviews published in the German periodical „Neue Zeitschrift für Musik“ from the point of etymology and lexicology. In the theoretical part, I focus on the basic terms in lexicology, word formation and etymology, further I focus on the description of the terminology in special languages, especially in music terminology. In the practical part, I describe the frequency of music words found in the interviews, their origin, part of speech and the gender. Furthermore, I analyse word formation of selected compounds.

Abstract:

Ve své bakalářské práci se zabývám analýzou hudební terminologie a slov souvisejících s hudbou na základě vybraných rozhovorů z německého časopisu „Neue Zeitschrift für Musik“, a to z etymologického a lexikologického hlediska. V teoretické části se soustředím na základní pojmy z lexikologie, slovotvorby a etymologie, dále na obecný popis odborných jazyků a hudební terminologie. V praktické části popisuji frekvenci výskytu slov spojených s hudbou nalezených v rozhovorech, jejich původ, slovní druh a rod. Navíc analyzuji slovotvorbu vybraných složenin.
