Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá problematikou bezpečnostních standardů v odvětví platebních karet. Cílem práce je představení uvedených standardů, jejich popis, využití a způsob aplikace do procesu platby kartou. V úvodu je shrnuta situace na trhu s platebními kartami v České republice včetně příkladů nejrozšířenějších bezpečnostních hrozeb. Zároveň zde zmiňuji důvody, proč jsem se rozhodl popisovat vybranou problematiku. Vlastní tělo práce je rozdělena do 5 hlavních kapitol. První kapitolu lze pomyslně rozdělit do dvou částí. V první části představuji platební kartu z pohledu fyzického a legislativního. V části druhé se již zaměřuji na samotné bezpečnostní standardy v odvětví platebních karet, což je stěžejní téma této práce. Přibližuji důvod jejich vzniku, představuji zakladatelské instituce a popisuji způsob, jak tyto standardy vzájemně spolupracují. Následující 3 kapitoly již hovoří konkrétně o technických a procedurálních požadavcích každého z bezpečnostních standardů. Záměrem bylo, aby každá z těchto kapitol představila konkrétní standard jak z pohledu obecného pro získání základního povědomí, tak detailního zaměřeného na samotný popis technických požadavků. Závěrečná kapitola je věnována výhledu do budoucnosti. Zhodnocuji různé pohledy na možný vývoj v oblasti bezpečnosti odvětví platebních karet. Zamýšlím se, jakou cestou a na jaká další zařízení pracující s platebními kartami se tyto standardy v budoucnu zaměří. Výsledkem této práce je demonstrace způsobu, jak standardy ve vzájemné spolupráci pokrývají bezpečnost systémů, které pracují s daty o platebních kartách.

Abstract:

This Bachelor thesis deals with payment cards security standards problems. The aim of this thesis is to introduce mentioned standards, their description, usage and method of their aplication in payment card process. As an introduction the work summarizes the situation on the market with the payment cards in the Czech Republic including examples of most widespread security threats. I mention the reasons why I decided to describe the chosen questions as well. The body of this thesis is divided into 5 chapters. The first chapter could be theoreticaly divided into 2 parts. I represent the payment card from the physical and legislative point of view in the first part. The second part is focused on particular security standards in the payment card industry which is the pivotal theme of this thesis. I introduce the reason of their origination, I represent establishment institutions and I describe which way the standards cooperate each other. Next 3 chapters describe the particular technical and procedural requests of every PCI standard. I aimed every of this chapter to present the particular standard from both general sight and the detailed sight aimed at the technical requests description. Last chapter is dedicated to the future perspective. I assess different sights of possible development of payment cards security industry. I consider which way and devices working with the payment cards the standards will focus on in the future. As a result of this thesis is to demonstrate the way how the standards with relative cooperation cover the security systems that work with payment cards data.
