Motives for the transition policy of the Czech Republic

Abstract:

Tato práce se zabývá motivy pro transformační politiku České republiky. V první části je nastíněno téma demokratizace, lidských práv a transformační politiky obecně. Motivy pro podporu demokracie a lidských práv lze rozdělit na čtyři skupiny: normativní, materiální, kulturní a kritické. Dále je představena transformační politika České republiky, její cíle a nástroje. Druhá část práce je zaměřena na vývoj politiky lidských práv a demokracie. Jsou sledovány politické postoje vůči transformační politice a analyzovány jednotlivé koncepty, které s transformační politikou souvisí (Koncepce zahraniční politika, Koncepce transformační spolupráce aj.). Závěr shrnuje, jaké motivy se objevují nejčastěji a které mají vliv na politiku podpory lidských práv a demokracie nejvíce.

Abstract:

This thesis deals with motivation for Transition policy of the Czech Republic. The first part presents topic of democratization, human rights and transition policy in general. Motivations for support of democracy and human rights can be divided in four groups: normative, materialistic, cultural and critical. In the next part Transition policy of the Czech Republic is introduced, its goals and instruments. The second part of the thesis is focused on the development of policy of human rights and democracy. Political positions towards transition policy are observed, concepts, related to the transition policy, are analyzed (Concept of the foreign policy of the Czech republic, concept of transition policy). Conclusion summarizes, which motives exist and which have the most influence on the policy of human rights and democracy.
