Ukrainian Famines and the Liquidation of Ukrainians in the 20th Century.

Abstract:

Cílem této diplomové magisterské práce je: stručně představit historii ukrajinsko-ruských vztahů v dějinách, poukázat na rusifikaci Ukrajiny, na systematický trvalý útisk Ukrajinců "velkým bratrem", prozkoumat historické zdroje týkající se hladomorů na Ukrajině, poukázat na skutečné příčiny zbytečného úmrtí mnoha milionů Ukrajinců, prezentovat praktické způsoby likvidace Ukrajinců, přiblížit důsledky a dopady hladomorů na ukrajinskou společnost, popsat odraz hladomorů v oficiální a exilové odborné literatuře a interpretovat svědectví pamětníků a obětí hladomorů.

Abstract:

The aim of this diploma thesis is: to briefly introduce the history of Ukrainian-Russian relations in the history, to point out the Russification of Ukraine and permanent systematic oppression of Ukrainians by "big brother", to explore the historical sources relating to the famines in Ukraine, to identify the real causes of unnecessary deaths of many millions of Ukrainians, to present practical means of disposal of Ukrainians, to describe consequences and impact of the famine in the Ukrainian society, to describe the reflection of famines in the official and exile scientific literature, and to interpret testimony of witnesses and victims of the famine.
