Representation of Pythagorean-hodograph curves using Clifford algebra

Abstract:

Tato práce uvádí jednotný formalismus pro popis rovinných a prostorových PH a MPH křivek v bézierovské reprezentaci s využitím komplexních čísel, kvaternionů a Cliffordových algeber. Jsou zde formulovány základy teorie kvaternionů, Minkowského prostorů a Cliffordových algeber, dále jsou odvozeny jednotné předpisy pro PH a MPH křivky v prostorech R^2, R^3, R^1,1 a R^2,1 a jsou uvedeny vybrané metody pro hermitovské interpolace pomocí těchto křivek, doplněné odkazy.

Abstract:

The thesis presents a unified formalism for the description of planar and spatial PH and MPH curves in Bézier form using complex numbers, quaternions and Clifford algebras. Fundamentals of quaternions, Minkowski spaces and Clifford algebras are introduced, followed by formulation of unified forms for PH and MPH curves in R^2, R^3, R^1,1 and R^2,1. The thesis also contains a presentation of selected Hermite interpolation methods using these curves, completed with several references.
