Development and implementation of an application for processing sports activities

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se věnuje problematice tréninkových deníků v oblasti orientačních sportů. Cílem práce je implementovat řešení elektronického tréninkového deníku s maximálním využitím dat z chytrých zařízení, která umožňují analyzovat tréninkové jednotky z pohledu zatížení srdečně oběhového systému. Práce v první řadě seznamuje čtenáře se současným stavem tréninkových deníků v orientačních sportech. Jsou zde podrobně popsány uživatelské požadavky, které vyplývají z provedených interview se sportovci a trenéry. Dále představuje popis současných řešení, které se na trhu vyskytují a využívají informační technologie. V druhé řadě je čtenář seznámen s celkovým návrhem vyvíjeného IS/ICT, které řeší zpracování tréninkového deníku dle stávající tréninkové metodiky v orientačních sportech. Při návrhu a vývoji aplikace bylo postupováno podle principů metodiky MMSP, která je určena pro malé softwarové projekty. Ověření funkčnosti aplikace a samotného přínosu do sportovního odvětví bylo provedeno pomocí dotazníkového šetření. Závěrečná kapitola shrnuje výsledek práce a popisuje možnosti dalšího rozvoje. Výstupem práce je funkční aplikace, která slouží jako alternativní způsob vedení tréninkového deníku v orientačních sportech.

Abstract:

This diploma thesis focuses on the design of training log applications suitable for the field of orienteering sports. The main aim of the thesis is to implement an electronic training log with maximum use of data from smart devices, which would allow the analysis of training units regarding their cardiovascular system load. Firstly, the thesis introduces the current state of training logs in the field of orienteering and defines the user requirements obtained from the interviews with Czech professional athletes and coaches. Moreover, the thesis describes existing IT solutions available on the market at the moment. Secondly, the reader is introduced to the overall design of the developed IS/ICT, which solves the processing of the training log according to the modern training methodology in orienteering sports. The design and development of the application follows the principles of the MMSP methodology, which is intended for small software projects. The functionality of the application and its contribution to the sports industry was verified using a questionnaire survey. The final chapter summarizes the key results of the thesis and opens the possibilities for further development. The functional output of the thesis is an application, which serves as a good alternative for recording training activities in orienteering sports.
