Extracellular vesicles, their isolation and characterization

Abstract:

Extracellular vesicles represent an important form of intercellular communication. The goal of this bachelor’s thesis is to define their properties with regards to their size, structure and origin. As the scope of this thesis, production and function of extracellular vesicles in multicellular organisms are described. Additional emphasis is placed on describing methods that allow for isolation and detailed characterisation of these vesicles from a biochemical standpoint. Present and future use of extracellular vesicles in the clinic is also summarized. This bachelor’s thesis is conducted as a literature review.

Abstract:

Extracelulární vezikuly představují významný způsob mezibuněčné komunikace. Cílem této bakalářské práce je definovat jejich vlastnosti z hlediska jejich velikosti, struktury a původu. V rámci práce jsou popsány možnosti tvorby a funkce extracelulárních vezikulů v mnohobuněčném organismu. Důraz je dále kladen na popis metod umožňujících izolaci těchto částic a podrobnou charakterizaci z hlediska jejich biochemického složení. Sumarizován je i současný stav a budoucí perspektivy využití extracelulárních vezikul v klinické oblasti. Bakalářská práce je zpracována formou literární rešerše.
