Factors Influencing Children's Reading

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá problematikou dětského čtenářství, zejména faktory, které jej ovlivňují. Cílem je popsat a rozebrat prvky, které působí na čtenáře v procesu utváření vztahu ke knize. V teoretické části je popsán význam dětského čtenářství a čtenářské gramotnosti, jako důležité složky v procesu čtení. Hlavním tématem jsou jednotlivé faktory působící na rozvoj dětské četby, z nichž nejdůležitější postavení zaujímají rodina, škola a prostředí knihoven. Práce popisuje některé zajímavé programy, aktivity a projekty které se rovněž podílejí na podpoře a rozvoji dětského čtenářství. V praktické části jsou prostřednictvím dotazníku zpracovány odpovědi žáků 2. stupně ZŠ. Otázky jsou sestaveny tak, aby bylo zjištěno, zda děti čtou, jaké žánry si vybírají, zda navštěvují knihovnu a jaký je jejich vztah ke knize.

Abstract:

The thesis deals with the issue of children´s reading, especially focuses on factors influencing the reading. The aim is to describe and analyze features affecting the readers and help to bring forth the relationship: a book- a reader. The thesis has two parts. The first part deals with describing of the importace in children´s reading so as the readers´ literacy. Both are important characteristics in this process. The main issues in this thesis are factors affecting the development of children´s reading. Thse factors are family, school and a library enviroment. There are also mentioned some ineteresting programmes, activities and projects supportting the development of children´s reading. In the practical part are analyzed the answers that had been previously provided in a form of questionairs. The questionaire was given to pupils of a second grade of the elementary school. The questions were set in order to find out whether the children read, visit the libraries if so what kind of books they read and what is their approach and attitude to books.
