Communication Barriers of Managers and their Subordinates

Abstract:

Cílem bakalářské práce je identifikovat u vybraného vzorku manažerů nejčastější komunikační prohřešky, které narušují sociální interakci v pracovním prostředí a zjistit jejich dopad na výsledky pracovní činnosti a skupinové klima. Součástí práce je soubor doporučení pro prevenci a eliminaci těchto bariér. Aby tyto cíle bylo možné splnit, vypracoval jsem dotazníky, zvlášť pro manažery a zvlášť pro podřízené, kde respondenti sami hodnotí, jak často se s jednotlivými bariérami na pracovišti setkávají a jaký podle nich mají dopad na výsledky jejich pracovní činnosti a skupinové klima. Jejich odpovědi jsou zpracovány v grafech podle jednotlivých kritérií rozdělení a jsou popsány. Teorie o komunikaci a jejich bariérách ve spojení se zjištěnými daty dávají společně představu o tom, na co by si manažeři na tomto pracovišti (a pravděpodobně i na jiných pracovištích podobné velikosti a struktury) měli dávat při komunikaci s podřízenými pozor. Přínosem této bakalářské práce by mělo být zlepšení komunikace a dosažení tak nejen zvýšení spokojenosti všech zaměstnanců, ale také zefektivnění průběhu pracovní doby. K tomu je nezbytná v první řadě komunikační způsobilost, především pak znalost efektivní komunikace, uvědomování si vlastních chyb a neustálá snaha o jejich eliminaci. V teoretické části jsou objasněny některé základní pojmy důležité v komunikaci, jsou zde popsány zásady a předpoklady efektivní komunikace, bariéry v komunikaci a komunikace v organizaci. Praktická část je zaměřena na prostředí tří pracovních skupin velké mezinárodní organizace. Jsou zde zobrazeny a popsány nejčastější bariéry na tomto pracovišti a jejich dopady na efektivitu práce a skupinové klima.

Abstract:

The aim of this work is to identify the most common communication errors taken from a selected sample of managers, which undermine the social interaction at work, and determine their impact on the results of work and group climate. Part of the work is a set of recommendations for the prevention and elimination of these barriers. For these goals to be met, I have developed questionnaires, particularly for managers, and especially for their subordinates, where the respondents assess themselves how often they face barriers in the workplace and impact of these barriers on the results of their work and group climate. Their responses are processed in charts by allocation criteria. Communication theories and the barriers related to the identified data give an idea of how the managers of this site (and possibly at other sites of similar size and structure) should communicate with their subordinates with care. The contribution of this work should be to improve communication and achieve not only greater satisfaction for all employees, but also increase productivity during business hours. For this to transpire, it is first necessary to increase communication, especially the knowledge of effective communication, then accept their mistakes and make a constant effort to eliminate them. Some important basic concepts in communication, a description of the principles and prerequisites of effective communication and barriers of communication and communication within the organization are clarified in the theoretical part. The practical part is focused on the environment of three working groups of international organization. The most common barriers on the workplace and their impact on work efficiency and group climate are shown and described there.
