Reputation risk of commercial banks and possibilities of its risk management

Abstract:

The goal of the submitted thesis: “Reputation risk of commercial banks and possibilities of its risk management” is to analyze the effect of reputational risk on the economy of commercial banks and to suggest possibilities of its effective management. The first part concentrates on the clarification of the terms reputation, reputational risk and its drivers. The second part describes the main principles of management of reputational risk in commercial banks. The practical part presents the program of Deutsche Bank for management of reputational risks and analyzes specific example of its reputational damage as well as the significance and the impact of reputational risk on commercial banks in general. The final part suggests possibilities of effective reputational risk management based on knowledge mentioned in this thesis.

Abstract:

Predmetom bakalárskej práce „Reputačné riziko komerčných bánk a jeho riadenie“ je zhodnotiť vplyv reputačného rizika na ekonomiku komerčných bánk a navrhnúť možnosti k jeho efektívnemu riadeniu. Prvá časť je zameraná na objasnenie pojmu reputácie, reputačného rizika a jeho zdrojov. Druhá časť popisuje základné princípy riadenia reputačného rizika v komerčných bankách. V praktickej časti sú uvedené hlavné zásady riadenia reputačného rizika v Deutsche Bank a analýza konkrétneho prípadu poškodenia reputácie v tejto banke, ako aj význam a vplyv reputačného rizika na komerčné banky obecne. V poslednej časti sú navrhnuté možnosti efektívneho riadenia reputačného rizika na základe poznatkov uvedených v tejto práci.
