Sexual assistance for the disabled

Abstract:

Tématem této diplomové práce je sexuální asistence u handicapovaných lidí. Nejdříve se text v první části zabývá sexualitou postižených osob a jejími odlišnostmi u fyzicky a poté u mentálně handicapovaných jedinců. Druhý díl práce se věnuje sexuální asistenci. Nejprve je vymezen samotný pojem, pak následují specifikace této služby spolu s konkrétními zkušenostmi ze zahraničí, kde je tato intimní pomoc legální a již provozována. Další část rozebírá proces vyjednávání o ustavení služby a vystupující aktéry v této diskuzi. Také analyzuje reakce odborníků, akademické obce a zainteresovaných neziskových organizací a spolků. V závěru textu se práce zaobírá právními aspekty a stávající platnou právní úpravou v České republice. Též je zde nastíněn možný budoucí vývoj a další možnosti rozvoje a zkoumání tohoto nového sociálního fenoménu.

Abstract:

The theme of this thesis is sexual assistance for people with disabilities. The text in the first part deals with the sexuality of disabled people and their differences in physically, then mentally handicapped individuals. The second part of the thesis deals with sexual assistance. First, it defined the concept itself, then follows the specifications of the service, along with specific experience of foreign countries, where this intimate and legal assistance has been operated. The third part presents the process of negotiation about setting of the service and brings the reactions of experts, academics and involved NGOs and associations. In the conclusion of the thesis the text deals with the legal aspects and the existing legislation in force in the Czech Republic. There is also outlined possible future developments and possibilities for further development and exploration of this new social phenomenon.
