Synthesis and use of new substituted benzoquinones

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce je zaměřena na syntézu nových 6-substituovaných 2-methyl-p-benzochinonů a studium jejich reaktivity v Diels-Alderových reakcích, zejména sledování regioselektivity těchto reakcí. První část práce je věnována teoretickému popisu Diels-Alderovy reakce jako v mnoha svých obměnách široce využitelného nástroje při syntéze cyklických organických molekul. Teoretický popis p-benzochinonů je obsažen ve druhé části. Práce se zde zaměřuje převážně na jejich reaktivitu, využití a možné způsoby jejich syntézy. Obsahem třetí části práce je popis experimentálního snažení o vývoj metodologie umožňující syntézu různě 6-substituovaných 2-methyl-p-benzochinonů a popisu reaktivity čtyř takto připravených chinonů v Diels-Alderových reakcích se zvoleným dienem.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis is focused on the synthesis of new 6-substituted 2-methyl-p-benzoquinones and study of their reactivity in the Diels-Alder reactions, particularly on observation of regioselectivity of these reactions. The first part of the thesis deals with theoretical description of the Diels-Alder reaction as - in many of its variations - widely useable tool for synthesis of cyclic organic compounds. Theoretical description of p-benzoquinones is contained in the second part. The thesis is focused predominantly on their reactivity, uses and possible methods of their synthesis. The content of the third part of the thesis is description of experimental effort to development of methodology enabling synthesis of diversely 6-substituted 2-methyl-p-benzoquinones and description of reactivity of four in this way prepared quinones in the Diels-Alder reactions with chosen diene.
