Possibilities of Reusing Cartridge Cases Made from CuZn30 Alloy

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce je zaměřena na možnosti přebíjení puškových nábojnic z technologického hlediska. Omezujícím aspektem jsou mechanické vlastnosti materiálu nábojnice po výstřelu a následně po přebití. Zásadní problematikou je zvýšení křehkosti (současně tvrdosti) v důsledku tváření materiálu za studena. To se odehrává při výstřelu a z podstaty dochází k vytvoření vnitřního pnutí vlivem deformace zrn materiálu. Toto se projeví ztrátou tvárnosti v oblasti krčku nábojnice po výstřelu a tím pádem i náchylností k destrukci nábojnice při opětovném výstřelu. Pozornost zde bude věnována jak zkoumané slitině - CuZn30, tak samotné mědi, technologiím výroby, mechanismu výstřelu a vlivu tepelného zpracování na mechanické vlastnosti materiálu.

Abstract:

This bachelor's thesis is focused on the possibilities of reloading rifle cartridges from a technological point of view. The limiting aspect is the mechanical properties of the cartridge material after the shot and subsequently after reloading. A fundamental issue is the increase in brittleness (at the same time hardness) due to cold forming of the material. This takes place during the shot and essentially creates an internal stress due to the deformation of the material grains. This will manifest itself in the loss of malleability in the area of the neck of the cartridge case after a shot and thus also in the susceptibility to destruction of the cartridge case when fired again. Attention will be paid here both to the investigated alloy - CuZn30, and to the copper itself, production technologies, firing mechanism and the effect of heat treatment on the mechanical properties of the material.
