Research of higher cognitive processes in children of preschool age

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá výzkumem vyšších kognitivních procesů u dětí v předškolním věku. Jedná se o volnou replikaci výzkumu Alexandra Romanoviče Luriji, který byl uskutečněn ve 30. letech minulého století. Práce je rozdělena na dvě části, teoretickou a praktickou. V první části lze najít definici dítěte předškolního věku, přičemž je zde také popsán jeho vývoj nejen ve fyzické a emoční oblasti, ale také v řeči či myšlení. Dále je práce věnována kognitivním procesům, jejich charakteristice, historii, a definici nejdůležitějších z nich. Třetí kapitola se věnuje sebehodnocení, což je jeden z hlavních úkolů, který byl dětem předložen. V poslední kapitole je vylíčen život a práce A. R. Luriji, o jehož výzkum jsme se v naší práci opírali. Praktická část nejprve obsahuje výzkumnou otázku a stanovené hypotézy. Pokračuje popisem našeho výzkumu. Jsou zde charakterizovány mateřské školy, ve kterých výzkum probíhal, informace o dětech, které se výzkumu účastnily, prostředí, a také jednotlivé úkoly, které byly dětem předkládány. Následuje analýza řešení, která byla nejdříve upravena do kategorií, a poté zapsána do tabulek. U každého úkolu jsou také vypsány nějaké zajímavé odpovědi a reakce dětí.

Abstract:

This diploma thesis deals with the research of higher cognitive processes in children of preschool age. It is a replication of Alexander Romanovich Lurija's research, which was conducted in the 1930s. The thesis is divided into two parts, theoretical and practical. In the first part we can find the definition of a preschool child, while it also describes its development not only in the physical and emotional area, but also in speech or thinking. Furthermore, the thesis is devoted to cognitive processes, their characteristics, history, and the definition of the most important parts of them. The third chapter deals with self-assessment, which is one of the main tasks presented to children. The last chapter describes the life and work of A. R. Lurija, whose research we applied in our work. The practical part contains a research question and established hypotheses in its first part. It continues with a description of our research. It characterizes the kindergartens in which the research took place, information about the children who participated in the research, the environment, as well as the individual tasks that were given to the children. The following is an analysis of solutions that were first categorized and subsequently written to tables. For each task there are also some interesting answers and reactions given by children.
