Pompeo Batoni and his portrait type of Joseph II
Abstract:
Pompeo Batoni was called the last italian Old Master in painting. In Slovak National Gallery, there is his painting of Joseph II., which he might have painted even before the famous doubleportrait of Joseph II. and Leopold of Tuscany. The important thing is also a great amount of copies and other portraits inspired by those by Batoni.
Abstract:
Pompeo Batoni bol označovaný za posledného talianskeho veľkého majstra. V Slovenskej národnej galérii sa nachádza jeho portrét Jozefa II., ktorý mohol namaľovať ešte pred slávnym dvojportrétom Jozefa II. a Leopolda Toskánskeho. Tiež je dôležité, že vznikalo veľké množstvo kópií a portrétov inšpirovaných týmto dielom.
