Audit inquest - dressing chronic wounds in the elderly

Abstract:

ABSTRAKT Diplomová práce se zabývá procesem naplňování standardizovaných postupů převazu nehojící se rány u seniora v Nemocnici Frýdek-Místek p.o a zjišťuje nakolik mají sestry teoretické znalosti a praktické dovednosti při provedení standardu. Nehojící se rána u seniora má mnoho negativních dopadů včetně dopadu na kvalitu jeho života. I dodržování režimových opatření může být pro pacienty obtížné. Mezi hlavní problémy patří zápach, bolest a exudát, stejně jako problémy s odlepujícími se obvazy nebo naopak obvazy přilepenými k ráně. Provádění správného aseptického převazu vede k omezení případných komplikací. Teoretická část je zaměřená na přiblížení základních informací o nehojící se ráně a o auditních šetřeních. Empirická část se věnuje provedení šetření na vybraných odděleních Nemocnice ve Frýdku Místku p. s nejvyšším výskytem seniorů. Hlavní výzkumnou otázkou bylo zjistit, jak probíhá plnění ošetřovatelského postupu podle vybraného standardu dané nemocnice. Předmětem šetření byl auditní list vytvořený za účelem získání dat pro tuto práci. Získaná data byla vyhodnocena metodou statistické analýzy.

Abstract:

This thesis deals with the process of achieving standardized methods of re-bandaging non-healing wounds of senior in the Frydek-Mistek Hospital. and it finds out how much nurses have theoretical knowledges and practical skills in the standard. Non-healing wound of elderly has many negative impacts, including the impact on quality of life. Observance of lifestyle measure can be difficult for patients, too. The main problems include odor, pain and exudate, as well as problems with unsticking bandages or the contrarily stuck to the wound. Implementation of proper aseptic dressing leads to a reduction of complications. The theoretical part is aimed at explaining of basic information about non-healing wounds and on audits. The empirical part deals with the investigation at selected departments of the Frýdek Místek Hospital with the highest incidence of seniors. The main research question was to find out how the nursing process follows the selected hospital standard. The subject of the investigation was an audit sheet created to obtain data for this work. The obtained data were evaluated by the statistical analysis method.
