Antifragility and Its Implications on Economic Theory and Praxis

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zaměřuje na základní myšlenku učení Nassima Nicholase Taleba – antifragilitu. V práci je postupně definovaná antifragilita jak z filozofického, tak matematického pohledu. Následně je diskutován vztah antifragility a všeobecně přijímané ekonomické teorie (např. nahodilost, dluh nebo ekonomický růst). V druhé polovině práce se čtenář dozvídá dopad antifragility na investičního rozhodování, které pokrývá samotnou detekci (anti)fragility v praxi, výběr vhodného aktiva a problém predikování v komplexních ekonomických systémech.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis is focused on the fundamental idea of Nassim Nicholas Taleb’s teaching – antifragility. In the thesis the antifragility is defined from both a philosophic and a mathematic point of view. Subsequently, the relationship between the antifragility and a generally accepted economic theory is discussed (e.g. randomness, debt or economic growth). In the second part of the thesis the reader learns about implications of the antifragility towards an investment decision process, which covers a detection of (anti)fragility, a selection of a suitable asset and a problem of predictions in complex economic systems.
