Desertification and Its possible solutions presented by examples from Israel

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá problematikou desertifikace a možnostmi jejího řešení na konkrétních příkladech z Izraele. Desertifikace je globálním problémem s vážnými dopady na životní prostředí, hospodářství a společnost jako celek. Izrael, země čelící výzvám sucha a degradace půdy, vyvinula řadu inovativních metod a technologií k ochraně svého území před rozšiřující se desertifikací. Práce analyzuje klíčové strategie, jako je ošetřování odpadní vody, desalinizace, systém kapkové závlahy a zalesňování, které Izrael využívá k omezování šířící se desertifikace. Na základě výsledného zkoumání vznikl ucelený přehled o efektivnosti a aplikovatelnosti jednotlivých metod. Výzkum prokázal celkovou účinnost metod proti šířící se desertifikaci a pro ostatní regiony světa představuje pomůcku pro možnost inspirace. V práci je uvedeno několik příkladů, jak se jiné světové regiony mohou inspirovat v oblasti řešení problému desertifikace.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis addresses the issue of desertification and its potential solutions using specific examples from Israel. Desertification is a global problem with serious implications for the environment, economy, and society as a whole. Israel, a country facing challenges of drought and soil degradation, has developed a range of innovative methods and technologies to protect its territory from expanding desertification. The thesis analyzes key strategies such as wastewater treatment, desalination, drip irrigation system, and afforestation that Israel utilizes to combat spreading desertification. Based on the research findings, a comprehensive overview of the effectiveness and applicability of each method has been compiled. The research has demonstrated the overall effectiveness of these methods against desertification and serves as a tool for potential inspiration for other regions of the world. The thesis provides several examples of how other global regions can draw inspiration from Israel's solutions to address the issue of desertification.
