Hlavním cílem této bakalářské práce je popsat problematiku žánru detektivních románů. Práce je rozdělena do dvou částí, teoretické a praktické. První teoretická část práce pojednává o základní charakteristice žánru, zmiňuje jeho vznik a postupný vývoj a věnuje se také seznámení s hlavními představiteli a jejich díly.
