Analyses of the indirected speech in the daily newspapers

Abstract:

This thesis deals with theory about indirect speech and it?s analysis in German press. The goal of this thesis is to read German press, seek out the indirect speech in articles and analize it. Three sources of German press were selected - Die Welt, Spiegel and Bild. These presses were selected because two of them are serious presses, and one of them is gutter press, and the selection affects the results of the analysis. Thesis is divided into two main parts, theoretical one and practical one. Theoretical part deals with differences between direct and indirect speech. To indirect speech, introductory words are realted, and we can recognize indirect speech through them. Theoretical part is also about conversion single types of sentences into indirect speech, dial, imperative and interrogative sentences specifically. Theoretical part is also dealing with choice of using subjunctive or indicative,with conversion of time in indirect speech, and with paradigms of subjunctive, which include subjunctive I, subjunctive II and Würde-Form. Phenomenon erlebte Rede (experienced speech) and innerer Monolog (inner monologue) are also related to indirect speech. Final parts of the theoretical part are journalistic forms of style, and the difference between serious and gutter press. Practical part contains selected presses, which contained read articles, which were analyzed for indirect speech. Two types of analisis were done ? quantitative one, which is evaluated by charts and tables, and qualitative one, which explains functions of indirect speech on specific examples of article sentences.

Abstract:

Tato práce se zabývá teorií o nepřímé řeči a následně pak její analýzou v německém tisku. Cílem práce je číst německé noviny, vyhledat nepřímou řeč v novinových článcích a analyzovat ji. Pro zpracování analýzy byly vybrány tři prameny německých novin- Die Welt, Spiegel a Bild. Tyto noviny byly záměrně vybrány, neboť se jedná o dva zástupce seriózních novin a jednoho zástupce bulvárního tisku, což má vliv na výsledky analýzy z hlediska výskytu nepřímé řeči. Práce je rozčleněna na dvě hlavní části, a to na teoretickou a praktickou část. Teoretická část pojednává o rozdílech mezi přímou a nepřímou řečí. S nepřímou řečí souvisí řeč uvozující slova, díky nimž můžeme také poznat nepřímou řeč. Dále pojednává o přeměně jednotlivých typů vět do nepřímé řeči, konkrétně vět oznamovacích, rozkazovacích a tázacích. Teoretická část se také zabývá volbou výběru mezi užití Konjunktivu nebo Indikativu, přeměnou času v nepřímé řeči a paradigmaty Konjunktivu, ke kterým patří Konjunktiv I, Konjunktiv II a Würde-Form. K nepřímé řeči se také váže fenomén erlebte Rede a innerer Monolog. Teoretickou část uzavírají novinářské formy stylu a rozdíl mezi seriózním a bulvárním tiskem. Praktická část představuje vybrané noviny, z nichž byly čteny články, ve kterých byla analyzována nepřímá řeč. Byly provedeny dva typy analýz- kvantitativní, která je vyhodnocena grafy a tabulkami a kvalitativní, která vysvětluje funkce nepřímé řeči na konkrétních příkladech z vět článků.
