Abstract:
Tato diplomová práce se zabývá českou kulturou ve třech filmech odehrávajících se v době komunismu (Něžné vlny, Báječná léta pod psa a Občanský průkaz), konkrétně tím, jak je česká kultura reflektována v anglických titulcích. Analyzovány jsou kromě kulturních specifik i další různé aspekty české kultury a historie.Abstract:
This Master’s thesis explores the Czech culture in three films set in the communist era (Tender Waves, The Wonderful Years that Sucked, and Identity Card), and how the culture is reflected in the English subtitles. The analysis focuses not only on culture-specific items and translation strategies, but also on other aspects of the Czech culture and history.
