The impact of expenses on the household of patient with multiple sclerosis on financial protection

Abstract:

Tato práce se zaměřuje na téma finanční ochrana domácnosti s pacientem s roztroušenou sklerózou. Cílem práce je zjistit, zda sledovaná domácnost v České republice s pacientem s roztroušenou sklerózou není ohrožena katastrofickými vý-daji. V teoretické části jsou vysvětleny pojmy náklady na zdraví, výdaje na zdraví a finanční ochrana. V práci je také podrobně popsána problematika onemocnění a specifických nákladů spojených s onemocněním. Jako výzkumná metoda byla využi-ta kazuistika, pomocí které jsou v práci sledovány výdaje domácnosti za období 6 měsíců. Práce využívá alternativní metodiku, která je kombinací metodiku WHO a metodiky COI. Pro výpočet jsou použity 4 metody dle WHO a každá z metod je vy-počítána 3 různé modely. Výsledky výpočtů jsou interpretovány a vyhodnoceny. Práce je diskutována se zahraničními pracemi se související tématikou.

Abstract:

This thesis focuses on the topic of financial protection of households with a patient with multiple sclerosis. The aim of the thesis is to find out whether the monitored household with a patient with multiple sclerosis in the Czech Republic is not endangered by catastrophic expenditures. The theoretical part explains the concepts of cost-of-Illness, out-of-pocket payments for the health and financial protection. The work also describes in detail the issue of the disease and the specific costs associated with the disease. A case study was used as a research method, with the help of which household expenditures for a period of 6 months are monitored at work. The thesis uses an alternative methodology, which is a combination of WHO methodology and COI methodology. For the calculation are used four methods according to WHO methodology and each of the methods is calculated for three different models. The results of the calculations are interpreted and evaluated. The thesis is discussed with foreign works on related topics.
