Abstract:

The United Kingdom significantly contributed to economics and therefore this bachelor thesis investigates British economic theories that affected the world, and the reasons why they were so influential. The main aims are to find reasons why British economists and their theories affected the world and were so influential. The findings showed that British economic publications and theories, both macroeconomic and microeconomic, were so pregressive because they, as the first ones, met the scientific criteria of the time when they were published. They were highly complex, comprehensible and brought new findings and knowledge. Moreover, British economist Adam Smith is considered the founder of economics and together with John Maynard Keynes, who is seen as the most influential economist of the 20th century, created two main economic approaches: Classical and Keynesian ones.

Abstract:

Velká Británie je zemí, která významně přispěla k rozvoji ekonomie, proto je tato bakalářská práce věnována britským ekonomickým teoriím, které ovlivnily svět, a důvodům proč byly tak vlivné. Hlavním cílem práce bylo najít důvody, proč britští ekonomové a britské ekonomické teorie tak významně ovlivnily svět. Závěrem práce bylo zjištění, že díla britských ekonomů, jak v oblasti makroekonomie, tak v oblasti mikroekonomie, byla tak pokroková, protože jako první splňovala vědecké požadavky své doby, byla ucelená, psána srozumitelnou formou a přinášela nová zjištění a nové znalosti. Navíc, britský ekonom Adam Smith, který je považován za zakladatele ekonomie jakožto vědy, společně s Johnem Maynardem Keynesem, který je považován za nejvlivnějšího ekonoma 20. století, vytvořili dva hlavní ekonomické směry: Klasický a Kynesiánský směr.
