The Analysis of Teaching Styles Use in Lower Secondary Physical Education Lessons

Abstract:

České školství prochází v současné době řadou bouřlivých diskusí o jeho dalším směřování, kvalitě, kurikulu, učitelství jako profesi atd. Tělesnou výchovu jako školní předmět tyto události samozřejmě nemohou minout. Ukazuje se, že absolventi škol začínají být nespokojení s úrovní její výuky, přístupem učitelů, způsobem organizace hodin atd. Zatímco další vzdělávání na to reaguje spíše inspiracemi pro obsahovou stránku výuky, jakoby stranou zůstává stát způsob, jakým se učí. Ukazuje se, že ani kurikulární reforma není v tělesné výchově dokonče-na. Existuje nesoulad mezi ideovými záměry a projektovaným učivem. Považujeme tedy za důležité otevírat rovněž témata didaktická a hledat cesty, které by nám dovolily popsaný stav stabilizovat. Naše práce se zabývá tématem využívání didaktických řídicích stylů ve výuce tělesné výchovy na 2. stupni základní školy. Tato teorie vychází z interakce mezi učitelem a žákem a upravuje vztahy mezi nimi, cíli a učivem. Spektrum se skládá z řady dílčích didaktických postupů, které učiteli umožňují navozovat u žáků učení a žákům dosahovat stanovených cílů. Výzkum, který jsme pomocí metody nepřímého pozorování (videostudie) provedli, ukázal, že ve sledovaných vyučovacích jednotkách byla šíře využívaného spektra didaktických řídicích stylů nedostatečná a že v nich převažovala dominantní role učitele. To je přitom jedna z možných příčin poklesu zájmu a popularity tělesné výchovy a nenaplňování jejích cílů. V následujícím interview s učiteli, kteří se do výzkumu zapojili, se ukázalo, že o teorii spektra, jeho principech a funkcích žádný z nich neví. Zároveň však učitelé ukázali určitou ochotu ke změně myšlení alespoň v oblasti didaktické. Bude ovšem nepochybně nutné takovou změnu ve větším měřítku iniciovat, třeba právě prostřednictví dalšího vzdělávání, a metodicky ji co nejvíce podporovat.

Abstract:

The Czech education system is undergoing at present of a turbulent debate about its future directions, its quality, its curriculum, teaching as a profession, etc. Physical education as a school subject, of course, couldn’t miss these events. It shows that graduates are becoming dissatisfied with the quality of its teaching, the teachers, the way organizations access lessons, etc. Further education on it responds rather inspirations for the content aspect of teaching neglected is the way while to teach. It shows that even the curricular reform in physical education is not complete. There is a discrepancy between the intentions and the curriculum. Therefore we consider as important, open also the themes of educational and search paths that would allow us to stabilize the condition described. This paper deals with the spectrum of teaching styles of physical education on the low-secondary school. This theory is based on the interaction between teacher and pupil and regulates the relations between them, the objectives and curriculum. The spectrum consists of a series of didactical procedures that allow teachers to raise students learning and pupils to achieve the set objectives. The research, which we are using indirect methods of observation (videostudie), showed that in the monitored lessons was the breadth of the spectrum used by the teaching style is insufficient and that they were the dominant role of the teacher. It is one of the possible problem of the decline in interest and popularity of physical education and failure to achieve of its objectives. In the following interview with the teachers, who are involved in the research, it turned out that the theory of the spectrum, its principles and features none of them knows. At the same time, however, the teachers showed a willingness to change the thinking, at least in the area of learning. It will undoubtedly be necessary to make such a change on a larger scale to initiate, through continuing education, and methodically as support.
