Use of Project-Based Learning in Spanish Class: Project "Miguel de Unamuno"

Abstract:

Miguel de Unamuno (1864 - 1936) is a crucial figure of the Spanish Literature and Philosophy who served as an influence to many people from other countries thanks to his timeless ideas. Yet it does not seem much attention is paid to him in Czech high-school curricula. This thesis presents a way to let students know about Unamuno using a method called project-based learning. It allows them to develop their knowledge about the author, as well as practice Spanish language, improve their communication skills, or strengthen their relationship with the classmates during team work.

Abstract:

Miguel de Unamuno (1864 - 1936) je významnou osobností španělské literatury a filozofie, která však svými nadčasovými myšlenkami ovlivnila dění i daleko za hranicemi své rodné země. I přesto se zdá, že na českých středních školách se autorovo jméno příliš nezmiňuje. Tato práce má za cíl představit návrh, jak studenty seznámit s Unamunem, a to prostřednictvím projektové výuky, díky níž mohou nejen rozvíjet své znalosti ohledně autora, ale zároveň také procvičovat španělský jazyk, zdokonalovat své komunikační schopnosti, či upevňovat vztahy se svými spolužáky formou práce ve skupinách.
