Foster Family and Foster Care from the Point of View of Adult Biological Children of the Foster Parents

Abstract:

Diplomová práce „Pěstounská rodina a pěstounská péče pohledem dospělých biologických dětí pěstounů“ pojednává v rámci teoretické části práce o systému náhradní rodinné péče v České republice a o jednotlivých formách náhradní péče o dítě: adopce, pěstounská péče, mezinárodní osvojení a náhradní výchovné péče (ústavní a ochranná výchova). V úvodu práce se zaměřuji na funkce rodiny a potřeby dítěte. Blíže se věnuji především institutu pěstounské péče u nás a popisuji jednotlivé druhy pěstounské péče. Shrnuji také legislativní podmínky náhradní rodinné péče v ČR. Ve výzkumné části se zaměřuji na zodpovězení otázky, jak vnímají dospělé biologické děti pěstounů svoji rodinu, ve které vyrostli a jaká vidí pozitiva a negativa pěstounské péče. Kromě toho také popisuji, jaká je jejich motivace k případnému pěstounství. K zodpovězení výzkumné otázky byla použita metoda zakotvené teorie. Analýza dat byla realizována na základě otevřeného, axiálního a selektivního kódování a vychází z dat, kterými je doslovná transkripce realizovaných rozhovorů. V závěrech práce odpovídám na výzkumnou otázku a vše dokládám úryvky rozhovorů. Celé znění rozhovorů je uvedeno v přílohách diplomové práce.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis „Foster Family and Foster Care from the Point of View of Adult Biological Children of the Foster Parents“ deals in its theoretical part with the concept of substitute for family care in the Czech Republic and with particular forms of substitute care for children: adoption, international adoption, foster care and substitute educational care (institutional and preventive care). In the introduction of the paper I have focused on the family functions and the needs of children. I have dealt in detail with the concept of foster care in the Czech Republic and I have described the particular types of foster care. I have also summarized the legislative conditions of substitute for family care in the Czech Republic. In the research section I have focused on the answer to the question: how adult biological children of foster parents perceive their family they grew up in and what are the advantages and disadvantages of foster care. Besides I have also described, what their motivation is to provide foster care themselves. To answer the research question the grounded theory methodology was applied. The data analysis was based on the methods of the open coding, the axial coding and the selective coding. The transcription of the interviews carried out served as research data. In the conclusions of the diploma thesis I have answered the research question and the mentioned conclusions are illustrated by the interview scraps. Full versions of interviews are included in the annexes of the diploma thesis.
