A parent´s point of view on the problems of non professional first aid on newly emerged children´s health disorders

Abstract:

Tato práce popisuje problematiku poskytování laické první pomoci u dětí. Zaměřuje se na zjištění znalostí rodičů v oblasti poskytování první pomoci v jednotlivých náhle vzniklých poruch zdraví u dětí. Práce je rozdělena na část teoretickou a praktickou. Teoretická část popisuje anatomické a fyziologické odlišnosti v dětském věku, příčiny, projevy a postupy laické první pomoc u zástavy dechu a oběhu, křečových stavů, náhlých stavů dušnosti, popáleninových traumat a intoxikací. Praktická část vyhodnocuje výsledky respondentů pomocí kvantitativní metody dotazníkového šetření. Dotazníky byly rozdány rodičům, kteří nepracují ve zdravotnictví ani ve školství, a jejichž dítě/děti jsou ve věku 0 až 7 let. Cílem práce je zjistit úroveň znalosti rodičů pro poskytování laické první pomoci při nejčastějších náhlých poruchách zdraví u dětí na území města Ostravy a okolí.

Abstract:

This thesis describes the issue of providing the laic first aid for children. It focuses on finding out the knowledge of parents in the area of providing the first aid in each of sudden health disorders at children. The work is divided into two parts, theoretical and practical. The theoretical part describes the anatomical and physiological differences in childhood, causes, symptoms and first aid procedures at cardiac and respiratory arrest, convulsions, sudden shortness of breath, burns trauma and intoxication. The practical part evaluates the results of respondents using quantitative method of the questionnaire. The questionnaires were given to parents who do work neither in the Healthcare nor in Education, and whose child/children are in the age from 0 to 7. The aim of the work is to find out the level of knowledge of parents to provide the laic firs aid at the most common sudden health disorders at children living in Ostrava and its surroundings.
