Mealworms in the nutrition of laying hens

Abstract:

Cílem výzkumu bylo zjistit vliv hmyzí moučky z larev Tenebrio molitor, která částečně nahradila sójový extrahovaný šrot v krmné směsi na živou hmotnost, užitkovost, kvalitu vajec a na biochemický profil krve u slepic produkujících konzumní vejce za pokusné období od 18. do 42. týdne věku nosnic. Do experimentu bylo zařazeno 24 slepic nosného hybrida Lohmann Brown Classic. Slepice na počátku pokusu byly rozděleny do tří pokusných skupin. První skupina označená jako PM0 byla skupina kontrolní, která byla krmena krmnou směsí, jež obsahovala sójový extrahovaný šrot, bez podílu moučky z larev moučných červů. Druhá pokusná skupina byla označena jako PM2, která byla krmena krmnou směsí, obsahující 2% podíl moučky z larev moučných červů, jež stejným množstvím nahradila sójový extrahovaný šrot v krmné směsi. Třetí pokusná byla označena jako PM5, která byla krmena krmnou směsí obsahující 5% podíl moučky z larev moučných červů, jež také stejným množstvím nahradila sójový extrahovaný šrot v krmné směsi. Náhrada moučky z larev moučných červů za sójový extrahovaný šrot v krmných směsích, neměla vliv na živou hmotnost nosnic během celého pokusného období. Různý podíl hmyzu v krmivu ovlivnil spotřebu krmiva. U pokusné skupiny s 2% podílem hmyzu v krmivu byla spotřeba krmiva pozitivně ovlivněna, naopak u vyššího 5% podílu hmyzu v krmivu byla spotřeba krmiva nejvyšší. Zařazením moučky z larev moučných červů do krmiva zhoršilo intenzitu snášky a produkci vaječné hmoty v závislosti na podílu hmyzu v krmivu. Počet snesených vajec nebyl ovlivněn. Konverze krmiva byla ovlivněna v závislosti na spotřebě krmiva. Pozitivní vliv na konverzi krmiva měla krmná směs s 2% podílem hmyzu. Naopak nejhorší konverzi krmiva měla pokusná skupina nosnic krmených 5% podílem moučky hmyzu. Zařazením moučky z larev moučných červů do krmných směsí mělo za následek zhoršení některých parametrů kvality vajec, a to u hmotnosti vejce, šířky vejce, indexu tvaru vejce, výšky bílku, hmotnosti bílku, procentuálním podílu bílku, procentuálním podílu skořápky a hmotnosti skořápky. Pozitivní vliv mělo pouze na zvýšení procentuálním podílu žloutku ve vejci. U biochemických krevních parametrů došlo ke zvýšení hodnot celkové bílkoviny a albuminu. Glukóza mezi pokusnými skupinami byla nestabilní. Výsledné rozdíly byly statisticky prokázány na hladině významnosti (P<0,05).

Abstract:

The aim of the research was to determine the effect of insect meal from Tenebrio molitor larvae, which partially replaced soybean extracted meal in the feed mixture on live weight, production performance, egg quality and biochemical blood profile in hens producing table eggs for the experimental period from 18 to 42 weeks. age of laying hens. 24 Lohmann Brown Classic hybrids were included in the experiment. The hens at the beginning of the experiment were divided into three experimental groups. The first group, designated PM0, was the control group, which was fed a compound feed containing soybean extracted meal, without the proportion of mealworm larvae. The second experimental group was designated PM2, which was fed a feed mixture containing 2% flour from mealworm larvae, which replaced the soybean extracted meal in the feed mixture with the same amount. The third experiment was designated as PM5, which was fed a feed mixture containing 5% flour from mealworm larvae, which also replaced the soybean extracted meal in the feed mixture with the same amount. Substitution of mealworm larvae for soybean extracted meal in compound feeds did not affect the live weight of laying hens throughout the experimental period. Different proportions of insects in the feed affected the feed consumption. In the experimental group with a 2% share of insects in the feed, feed consumption was positively affected, while in the higher 5% share of insects in the feed, feed consumption was the highest. The inclusion of mealworm larvae in the feed worsened the laying intensity and egg production depending on the proportion of insects in the feed. The number of eggs laid was not affected. Feed conversion was affected depending on feed consumption. The feed mixture with a 2% insect content had a positive effect on the feed conversion. In contrast, the experimental group of laying hens fed 5% insect meal had the worst feed conversion. The inclusion of mealworm larvae in compound feed resulted in a deterioration of some egg quality parameters, namely egg weight, egg width, egg shape index, protein height, protein weight, protein percentage, shell percentage and shell weight. It only had a positive effect on increasing the percentage of yolk in the egg. Biochemical blood parameters increased total protein and albumin. Glucose between the experimental groups was unstable. The resulting differences were statistically demonstrated at the level of significance (P <0.05).
